27 July: The great rebellious (rabbit) heroes of wine drinkers.

1940 an unlikely anarchist hero was born in an animated short called  “A Wild Hare.”

Bugs Bunny. You can watch a YouTube feature about it HERE.

(This site now has a theme tune. It’s HERE. Click it and read. It adds a majesty to the crap I write.)

Now surely the entrance into the world of a chaotic rebel who constantly outsmarts his enemies should be celebrated in the only way that matters – with the taste of fermented grape on our lips and shouts of ‘Hero.’

(In fact, my own entrance into the workplace is frequently celebrated by shouts of: “Lo here cometh a chaotic rebel who constantly outsmarts his enemies with drunken ramblings and street smart union legislation.” So it’d be especially rude for me not to commemorate his debut appearance seeing as I channel him as my spirit animal most days when the management advance slowly thinking they’ve got me in their sights.

(Mrs Drink Wine Today might even celebrate with carrot wine or some other hedgerow variety that the organic devotees seem to like so much? I’ll, though, will stick to something classic and French. )

So watch some cartoons on line, give yourself permission to be a kid again and then, the next time some hopeless little fuckwit who thinks they holds all the cards tries to back you into a corner,  just remember all you’ve learned about what good old fashioned trickery and cunning can do.

You, my friend, can win! (Remember – as the quote goes – that age and treachery will always beat youth and skill.)

So, channel the rabbit and go for it!

A quote: “Wine, madam, is God’s next best gift to man.” Ambrose Bierce.

    1. Paranoia and copious amounts of wine? You write informative, engaging AND educational stuff though which is equally (more?) impressive. Well done, us! (We’re a transatlantic mutual appreciation society who bond over libertines and a dislike of Trump.) Hurrah!
