30th May: Water, wine, flowers and self care.

“Leave my sister alone, she don’t deserve this – she is a flower and I am a flower and we are all alone.” So sang Counting Crows on the song Children In Bloom and that’s a good line to bear in mind now we’re off on our familiar journey of finding a random reason to get drunk.

(This site now has a theme tune. It’s HERE. Click it and read. It adds a majesty to the crap I write.)

You too are a flower. You too need care and upkeep to flourish and bloom in life. The soil has got to be right, the location good for putting down roots and there have to be lots of lovely little bees who buzz all around you all day been gentle with your stamens.

And mostly, you need a way to take in sunlight and be watered every day.

That’s where today comes in. That’s where wonderful wine comes in!

Today is Water A Flower day. (Really, it is!)

And you are a flower and because you drink wine you are not all alone. Life actually can be pretty fucking good. Let’s celebrate it. Red or white? It doesn’t matter – just remember to keep yourself moist.

A quote: “Wine is drinkable sunlight. It’s the most glorious summer’s day imaginable captured in a bottle.” Walter Moers.
